WHAT'S NEW

About Us

OUR HISTORY

Established in 1905, Happy Burger is proud to be the longest funning fast food chain in America. We were founded by Richard and Beth Birkle, two siblings with a love for food. Born into a wealthy family, Richard and Beth were taught to always give back to the community. They opened the first Happy Burger in Virginia as a way to provide affordable and high-quality food to the less fortunate.

INTO THE PRESENT

Over the years, Richard and Beth became beloved figures and Happy Burger steadily rose in popularity. Happy Burger would explode in popularity in the early 2000s because of our generous pay and glorious food.

Today, Happy Burger is one of the largest fast food chains in the world and has over five thousand locations in the US alone! We take great pride in our history and look forward to expanding even more in the near future!

WARTIME STRUGGLES

While they did not become an overnight success, Richard and Beth were beloved by their community and always tried to help the poor. When Richard was called away to fight in the First World War, Beth took it upon herself to keep the restaurant thriving. When Richard returned from the war, he was happy to find that Beth had opened two new locations in order to provide low-cost food for the poor.
